Baker falls to Anacortes, 10-0


The Mount Baker softball team fell to Anacortes 10-0 in six innings on Tuesday, May 7, at Anacortes in a Northwest Conference game.

The Seahawks scored runs in five of the six innings, including seven in the first three, putting the Mountaineers in a hole they were unable to get out of.

"It didn't start well, and it didn't end well," Mount Baker coach Ron Lepper said in a phone interview. "We couldn't get anything going. We hit the ball pretty hard, but right at people."

Aleks Toivola picked up her eighth loss of the season, and Lacey Postlewait, Emma Lallas and Ivy Locke combined for all three of Mount Baker's hits.

The Mountaineers (9-9, NWC 4-7) travel to Meridian on Wednesday, May 8.
