Lyncs score in every inning, win 20-1

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDMay 7, 2013

The Lynden Christian softball team scored in every inning to win 20-1 in five innings at Squalicum in a Northwest Conference game Monday, May 6.

"The game went really well, and Shelby (Brown) provided a lot of pop for us today both in center field and at the plate," Lynden Christian coach Mitch Moorlag said in a phone interview. "She hit a three-run homer in the second and a grand slam in the third and really got the momentum going for us. Their pitcher did a good job staying on the plate, and we were able to be aggressive and hit strikes."

Brown went 3 for 3 with eight RBI for the Lyncs (2-9 NWC, 6-13) and Lexi Vander Griend went 4 for 4.

Squalicum (1-10 NWC, 2-17) was led by Lauren Eckert, who went 2 for 3.

Lynden Christian hosts Nooksack Valley on Wednesday, May 8, in a Northwest Conference game, while Squalicum travels to Anacortes on Thursday, May 9.
