Lions fall 7-0 to Sedro-Woolley

The Lynden softball team lost its first Northwest Conference game of the year 7-0 at home against Sedro-Woolley on Monday, May 6.

"Sedro just played really well and their pitcher threw the ball well and kept us off balance," Lynden coach Steve Petersen said in a phone interview. "We never got anything going offensively. Defensively, we were uncharacteristically sloppy, but that had a lot to do with them getting the ball in play."

The Lions were led by Trisha Snydar and Tanna Benson, who each went 1 for 3, and Destinee Matter, who went 1 for 3 with a double.

Brooke Bonsen fell to 13-3 with the loss for the Lions (10-1 NWC, 14-4).

Lynden hosts Ferndale on Tuesday, May 7, in the Lions' final NWC game of the year, and if the Lions win they secure first place in the NWC.
