SKAGIT COUNTY: Blanchard Forest access limited on weekdays

jeff.mayor@thenewstribune.comMay 5, 2013

Culvert replacement and road work will lead to lengthy weekday road closures in the Blanchard Forest Block in Skagit County.

The state Department of Natural Resources will replace old culverts and fix worn roads beginning Monday and running through approximately July 1. Construction will take place from 6:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays. The road will be open to recreation use Fridays-Sundays.

During the week, expect intermittent road closures for up to 10 hours and up to 20-minute delays otherwise, said a department news release.

The Blanchard Lower Trailhead will be accessible throughout the project.

Closures will be periodic and can be tracked through DNR’s blog and social media sites.
