Ferndale wins final match before postseason

The Ferndale girls' tennis team won its final regular season match 6-1 in a non-conference game with Friday Harbor at home Thursday, May 2.

"I was really pleased with the performance of the team," Ferndale coach Rudy Vendiola said in a phone interview. "It was really good to finish off the season with two wins in a row heading into next week's league tournament in Stanwood. The performance was reflected in the scores."

Savannah Pothier won the first singles match 6-1, 6-0 for the Golden Eagles (3-11) and Ally Bagley won the second singles 6-0, 6-1.

Ferndale begins the postseason Tuesday, May 7, in Stanwood.
