Ferndale business owner seeks council seat

FERNDALE - A Main Street business owner will run for City Council.

Carol Bersch, 59, announced Thursday, May 2, that she will seek Position 6 on the council, currently held by Lloyd Zimmerman. He announced in January he would not seek re-election.

Bersch owns and runs Carol's Cake Designs, which opened almost two years ago. She has lived in Ferndale since 2008. Bersch is a member of the Ferndale Chamber of Commerce and was elected to its board of directors.

In a statement, Bersch said she wants to see more businesses in downtown Ferndale.
