Bellingham girls' tennis earns win


The Bellingham girls' tennis team won a non-conference match 6-1 at home against South Whidbey on Tuesday, April 30.

"We played fine," Bellingham coach Steve Chronister said in a phone interview. "I thought first doubles really got going and played a great second and third set. We are playing a lot better in general and getting hot in the last week or so."

Catie Welch and Kate Troutman won 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 in the first doubles set for the Red Raiders (7-1 NWC, 14-1).

Kara Burns won the third singles for Bellingham 6-1, 6-0.

Bellingham will play a doubles only match against Sehome on Saturday, May 4.
