Mariners sweep Lions 6-0 in tennis

The Sehome girls' tennis team won 6-0 at Lynden in a Northwest Conference match that was shortened due to inclement weather Monday, April 29.

"Today was senior day, and it showed as my seniors did the best," Lynden coach Trey Ballard said in a phone interview. "They played really well. Devon (Kollmyer) and Morgan (Otter) and Tilly (Timmer) did not do as well last time against their same opponents from today. Our team as a whole did a lot better. They were short on the wins, but they played like champions and were a lot of fun to watch."

Andrea Clawson defeated Kollmyer 6-4, 6-2 in the first singles match for Sehome (14-0, 6-0 NWC).

Madison Harris and Taylor Harris defeated Lynden's (1-12, 0-8 NWC) Otter and Timmer 7-5, 7-6 in the first doubles match.

Sehome hosts Anacortes in a Northwest Conference match Tuesday, April 30, while Lynden travels to Friday Harbor for a non-conference match.
