The Blaine girls' tennis team earned its second Northwest Conference win with a 4-3 victory at home against Sedro-Woolley on Monday, April 29.
"I was really pleased with the play up and down the line, even though we didn't win all of them," Blaine coach John Freal said in a phone interview. "The girls played really hard today. Our thirds were impressive."
Katie Morley won the third singles set 6-4, 6-2 for the Borderites (6-8, 2-4 NWC).
Blaine teammates Mandy Hayes and Emily Roe won their third doubles set 6-4, 6-0.
"That was the best I have seen Mandy and Emily play," Freal said. "Their athleticism really showed, and they finished well for us. They were the last match going and did a really good job in the last set."
Blaine travels to Ferndale Tuesday, April 30.
