Wants corporations held accountable

COURTESY TO THE BELLINGHAM HERALDApril 30, 2013

The city of Bellingham and the state of Washington are allocating millions of dollars to clean up the Bellingham waterfront of the mess left by Georgia-Pacific Corporation.

Why should the taxpayers have to cover these costs? Why shouldn't this international, billion-dollar corporation be held accountable for toxic waste it left in our community? This corporation should be allowed to make a fortune exploiting local resources and then can just walk away without any accountability?

No! We need to demand corporate accountability. We owe it to our environment, the legacy we leave our children, not to mention the local and state taxpayers.
