Award-winning environmentalist to speak at WWU


BELLINGHAM - Environmentalist and activist David Suzuki will speak at Western Washington University Monday, May 6, as part of the university's Japan Week celebration.

Suzuki's lecture is called "Time is Running Out: Ecology or Economics?" and will take place at noon at WWU's Performing Arts Center Concert Hall. The talk is free and open to the public.

Suzuki has worked as a radio and television host, explaining natural sciences in an understandable way, and has written more than 50 books. He is currently a professor emeritus at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
