Varner, Phelps help guide Lynden to good showing


Elijah Varner had a strong showing for the Lynden boys' track team at the 53rd Shelton Invitational Track and Field Meet on Saturday, April 27, at Shelton.

Varner helped guide the Lions to a 20th-place finish in a field of 40, placing fourth in the 300 meter hurdles (41.15), 13th in the 110 hurdles (16.53) and 12th in the 4x100 relay (44.83).

Jalani Phelps also had a strong day, finishing sixth in the 400 (51.64), fourth in the 4x400 (3:31.77) and 12th in the 4x100 (44.83).
