Last-inning woes down Blaine 4-2

The Blaine baseball team had its chances but inevitably fell to Sedro-Woolley 4-2 on Friday, April 26, at Blaine in a Northwest Conference game.

Sedro was able to plate two runs in the top of the seventh to break a 2-2 tie. Despite picking up the loss, Blaine coach Sean Linville felt this was a game they could have won.

"We had numerous chances, and we left 11 guys on," Linville said in a phone interview. "We just couldn't get the big hits when we needed them ... Story of the year of how we competed and had our chances, and it didn't happen."

Brett Allen, despite picking up the loss, pitched well only allowing two hits through the first six innings. Allen also produced at the plate, going 2 for 4 with a run and a stolen base.
