The Mount Baker baseball team put together a well-rounded performance, defeating Anacortes 6-1 on Friday, April 26, at Mount Baker in a Northwest Conference matchup.

The Mountaineers got off to an early lead after scoring two runs in the first inning of a one-out, two-RBI double by Cody Larson. In a similar situation in the third inning, Balyn Jacoby came up with two outs and knocked in two to put Mount Baker out of reach.

"Today, we played a complete baseball game, and it was nice to see," Mount Baker coach Quinn LeSage said in a phone interview. "Our guys competed every pitch, and one through nine had great approaches at the plate."

Kaleb Brownfield picked up his third win of the season in a complete-game gem.

"He got guys out when he needed to," Lesage said.

Mount Baker (7-11, NWC 4-7) hosts Friday Harbor on Saturday, April 27.
