Sehome jumps out to 14-1 win over Meridian


The Sehome baseball team scored 13 runs in the first three innings to win at Meridian 14-1 in five innings in a Northwest Conference game Friday, April 26.

"Obviously they jumped on us early and we just didn't respond," Meridian coach Steve Slesk said in a phone interview. "They hit it tonight. They brought their hitting shoes and obviously 13 hits was huge for them. They got on us early and we couldn't bounce back."

Tyler Knutsen went 3 for 4 with a home run, Josh Zavisubin went 2 for 4 and Jake Albert went 3 for 4 for the Mariners (9-2 NWC, 15-4).

Tanner Tutterow went 1 for 2 and Jeremy Brockmann and Tucker Bronkema went 1 for 3 for Meridian (4-7 NWC, 10-8).

Meridian travels to Mount Baker for its final NWC game of the year Monday, April 29, for a game to decide first or second place in 1A.

Sehome travels to Burlington-Edison for its final NWC game Monday, April 29.
