Lynden girls' tennis loses 6-1 to Burlington-Edison

The Lynden girls' tennis team lost to Burlington-Edison 6-1 during a Northwest Conference match Friday, April 26, at Burlington-Edison High School.

The Lions' doubles team of Alex Schulhauser and Kelsey Hewson recorded Lynden's lone win. The duo beat its Burlington-Edison opponent 6-2, 2-6, 6-2.

"I saw a very good Burlington-Edison girls' team hitting the ball really hard," Lynden coach Trey Ballard said during a phone interview. "Third doubles I was really proud of Alex Schulhauser and Kelsey Hewson. They won the first set, dropped the second, made adjustments in the third and that was exciting for us."

Lynden (1-11, 0-7 NWC) plays Sehome next at 3:30 p.m. Monday, April 29, at Lynden High School.
