Borderites jump out early, win 21-3 over Storm

The Blaine softball team jumped out to an early lead and cruised to a 21-3, five-inning victory at Squalicum in a Northwest Conference game Friday, April 26.

"Blaine hit the ball really well and played good defense," Squalicum coach Loren Zenonian said in a phone interview. "Their pitcher located the outside corner and kept us from scoring. We also couldn't get (Ashley) Bolick out and she played a great game and was a big difference throughout."

Bolick went 4 for 4 with a home run, three doubles and six RBI and Hanna Kiele went 3 for 4 for the Borderites (6-3 NWC, 11-4).

Hailey Linville went 1 for 2 with two runs and two stolen bases for Squalicum (1-7 NWC, 2-13).

Squalicum hosts Ferndale on Tuesday, April 30, for a Northwest Conference game, while Blaine travels to Mount Baker.
