The Squalicum girls' tennis team defeated Anacortes 6-1 on Thursday, April 25, in a Northwest Conference matchup at Squalicum.
After dropping the first singles match, the Storm reeled off the final six matches, including straight-set wins in all three doubles.
"I was very pleased with our doubles today," Squalicum coach Joe O'Brien said in a phone interview. "We had a really strong showing in doubles, and Makena DeGolier and Zoe Roberts played really good, solid tennis."
Tirsa Randall-Grutter also came away with an impressive three-set win, 2-6 6-2 6-1 - her first three-set match of the year.
"After dropping that first set, she really played a determined second and third set," O'Brien said.
