Bellingham earns 5-2 win

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDApril 26, 2013

The Bellingham girls' tennis team earned a 5-2 win over Burlington-Edison in a Northwest Conference match Thursday, April 25, in Burlington.

"There were three matches that were really special for us," Bellingham coach Steve Chronister said in a phone interview. "Whenever Bella Hoyos and Anna Lefebvre play it's just incredible. They are two of the best in the state. Kira Vazorka lost to her opponent last time and was able to beat her today and Olivia Giles and Leah Nichols have won a lot this year but this was definitely the best team that they have beaten."

Hoyos won 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 for the Red Raiders (5-1 NWC, 11-1) and Vazorka won 6-3, 6-3.

Giles and Nichols won 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 for Bellingham.

Bellingham travels to Blaine for a Northwest Conference game Friday, April 26.
