First-inning woes down Meridian 6-3


The Meridian baseball team fell to Friday Harbor 6-3 on Thursday, April 25, in a non-league matchup at Friday Harbor.

A rough, four-run first inning befell the Trojans, putting them in a hole they couldn't quite come out of.

"They came out on fire," Meridian coach Steve Slesk said in a phone interview. "The lead-off guy hit a home run, and five of their first six guys had base hits."

Jeremy Brockmann struggled on the mound, but managed to help his cause at the plate with two hits and an RBI.

The Trojans host Sehome for a Northwest Conference game Friday, April 26.
