Pioneers fall 7-1

The Nooksack Valley baseball team fell 7-1 in a Northwest Conference game at home to Burlington-Edison Thursday, April 25.

"We battled and played fairly well, especially in the beginning," Nooksack Valley coach Scott Gelwicks said in a phone interview. "They got a couple breaks and we didn't do the things we needed to. They had one big inning and took us out of it."

Tyler Cienfuegos led the Pioneers (2-8 NWC, 5-12) and went 2 for 3 and Ethan Vinup went 1 for 3.

The Pioneers host Bellingham for a Northwest Conference game Friday, April 26.
