Blaine softball wins 18-8

The Blaine softball team jumped out to an early lead in its 18-8 win at Friday Harbor in a non-conference game Thursday, April 25.

"We hit the ball well and in the last three games we have had 49 hits and had some momentum going into it," Blaine coach Alisa Burk said in a phone interview. "We were a little rushed today, but we felt the urgency. Our defense struggled but as soon as we got into the groove we picked it up and let our bats do the talking."

Selena Pai led the Borderites (5-3 NWC, 10-4) and went 3 for 5 with three runs, seven RBI and a home run. Ashley Bolick went 5 for 6 with four runs and 2 RBI and Hanna Kiele went 3 for 3 with four runs.

Blaine travels to Squalicum for a Northwest Conference game Friday, April 26.
