The Sehome girls' tennis team was able to earn a 5-2 win at Burlington-Edison in a Northwest Conference match Wednesday, April 24.
"We were in a real dog fight with Burlington," Sehome coach Bonna Giller said in a phone interview. "They are a strong team and we had to fight for every single point. This was a key win for us. I think we started a little slow because of our tough and emotional win against Bellingham yesterday."
Madison Harris and Taylor Harris won the first doubles match 7-6, 2-6, 6-3 for the Mariners in a match that Giller said was the first to start and the last to end.
Lizzie Friesen won the fourth singles match 6-0, 6-0 for Sehome (4-0 NWC, 10-0).
The Mariners host Squalicum in a Northwest Conference game Friday, April 26.
