Lynden jumps out early, wins 6-3 over Blaine


The Lynden baseball team defeated Blaine 6-3 in a Northwest Conference game at home Wednesday, April 24.

"It was great because we got to throw a few pitches today," Lynden coach Cory White said in a phone interview. "We thought Peter Bovenkamp did a nice job on the mound and offensively scoring our last three runs."

Bovenkamp went 2 for 3 and Luke Christianson went 2 for 4 with a home run for the Lions (9-1 NWC, 16-1).

Blaine (0-11 NWCM 6-13) was led by Dwayne Ortega and Ben Hodgin, who each went 2 for 3.

The Borderites host Sedro-Woolley in a Northwest Conference game Friday, April 26, while Lynden travels to Ferndale.
