Rachor repeats as GNAC Women's Golfer of the Year

Western Washington University's Claire Rachor, who led the league with an 80.1 scoring average, has been named Great Northwest Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Year for the second straight time in an announcement of league awards made Wednesday, April 24.

Receiving GNAC Freshman of the Year honors was the Vikings' Kristen Hansen.

Rachor placed second at the conference tournament held earlier this week, finishing two strokes behind teammate Kara Zitzman, who took medalist honors.

Rachor, who was the 2012 league tournament medalist, was named a first-team GNAC all-star for the third consecutive year, finishing as the team's scoring leader for the third time in her four-year career. Zitzman earned first-team honors for the second time, being a second-team choice in 2011.

In all, WWU placed four players on the GNAC first team. The other two were Hansen and Anna Bourland.
