Blaine earns first NWC win over Lynden

The Blaine girls' tennis team won 6-1 at Lynden in a Northwest Conference match Tuesday, April 23.

"I thought Blaine played a really good match today," Lynden coach Trey Ballard said in a phone interview. "We're fairly even with them and they outplayed us today. They played better tennis than we did."

Saskia Dolk defeated Devon Kollmyer in the first singles match 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 for the Borderites (1-2 NWC, 4-5).

Emily Grayston and Alex Henderson won the first doubles match for Blaine 6-3, 7-5 over Morgan Otter and Tilly Timmer.

Morgan Braithwaite won the only match for Lynden (0-3 NWC, 1-7) against Hope Wilkett 7-6 (3) 2-6, 10-8.

Blaine hosts Friday Harbor in a non-conference game Wednesday, April 24, while Lynden hosts Sedro-Woolley in a NWC game.
