Kings of 'mongrel folk' perform at Nancy's Farm

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDApril 24, 2013

Musicians Mark Graham and Orville Johnson perform at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 28, at Nancy's Farm in Bellingham.

Musicians Mark Graham and Orville Johnson perform at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 28, at Nancy's Farm, 2030 E. Smith Road.

The combination of Graham, known for his harmonica and clarinet playing, and Johnson, known for his slide-guitar work, creates a hybrid of music that is defined by them as "mongrel folk." a smattering of bluegrass, klezmer, gospel, traditional and country blues, and even "something that sounds like Johnny Cash wandering into a science-fiction convention," they say.

Suggested donation is $15. Details on the gig: 360-966-4640, nancysfarm.com. More on the music at www.mongrelfolk.com.
