Team Schmidt dominates Deming opener

The Schmidt Racing Team had a solid day at Deming Speedway, with two of the team's drivers putting their cars in victory lane at the track's opening event for 2013 on Sunday, April 21.

Chase Schmidt went wire to wire to win the 600 Open division. Second place went to Liam Ryan and third went to Brayden Planko in the 25-lap race.

In the 600 Restricted class, Chase's brother Eli Schmidt earned the victory with Dylan Resch taking second and Tristin Thomas earning third.

Eric Drake took the lead in the 23rd lap to earn the victory in the 1,200 division. Jared Gundersen was second and Jacob Buckenmeyer was third.

In the Kasey Kahne Junior Sprint division, Lynden Lebedinski earned his first career victory. Cain Cress was second and Tyler Mcleod was third.
