April Brews Day raises funds for Max Higbee Center



The 2013 April Brews Day runs from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at Depot Market Square in Bellingham.

The annual Bellingham microbrew tasting and competition fundraiser that benefits the Max Higbee Center, a local nonprofit that provides recreational opportunities for teens and adults with developmental disabilities, runs from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at Depot Market Square, 1100 Railroad Ave. (at Maple Street).

Admission is $20 in advance, $25 at the door, and includes a collectible tasting glass and scrip for beer tastes and food. Tickets are available at Boundary Bay, Chuckanut and Kulshan breweries, both Community Food Co-ops, Village Books and Maggie's Pub, and by calling 360-733-1828. Details on Facebook and maxhigbee.org. Entertainment includes the Bellingham Circus Guild, Out of the Ashes, The Fabulous Party Boys and Skamania.
