The Lynden Christian boys' soccer team came back to earn a 3-3 draw with Sedro-Woolley in a Northwest Conference game Friday, April 19.
"It was an unbelievable comeback," Lynden Christian coach Brent De Ruyter said in a phone interview. "We were very close to getting quite a few in the first half but couldn't find the net and we really controlled much of the possession so it was frustrating that they scored late in the first."
De Ruyter said his team couldn't do anything to prevent the second goal but that the third goal was from a bad touch.
Toby Dalla Santa scored for the Lyncs (4-3-1 NWC, 6-4-2) five minutes after Sedro-Woolley scored its third goal.
Luke Reardon and Colin Robinson scored the last two goals in the final 10 minutes to draw even.
"To battle back like that says a lot about these guys and how resilient they are," De Ruyter said. "With us fighting for the top seed with Meridian, to battle back is huge. It looked like we would have nothing tonight and to get away with a point is a big deal."
The Lyncs travel to Nooksack Valley on Saturday, April 20, for a Northwest Conference match.
