Sehome sweeps Blaine 7-0

The Sehome girls' tennis team swept Blaine 7-0 in a Northwest Conference match at home Wednesday, April 17.

"I thought we played very well today," Sehome coach Bonna Giller said in a phone interview. "First and second singles played extremely well with very few points lost in either match. They were both very focused in their matches."

Andrea Clawson defeated Saskia Dolk 6-0, 6-0 in the first singles match and Lauren Smith defeated Elizabeth Berry 6-0, 6-0 in the second singles match for the Mariners (1-0 NWC, 7-0).

Nicola Morrow and Natalie Knops defeated Alicia Allison and Shirin Roth-Lerner 6-2, 6-0 in the second doubles match.

"Our second doubles played well together and are playing better and better together every single match," Giller said.

Blaine (0-2 NWC, 3-5) travels to Lynden for a Northwest Conference match Thursday, April 18, while Sehome travels to Sedro-Woolley on Friday, April 19.
