Ken Axelson leaving Conway School District

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDApril 17, 2013

CONWAY - Ken Axelson, former Lynden High School principal, is stepping down as superintendent of Conway School District after four years there.

Karst Brandsma, former interim superintendent at Mount Baker School District and former deputy superintendent for Bellingham schools, is one of four candidates to replace him.

Axelson has been a part-time superintendent and will depart at the end of the school year. He believes the district needs someone who can devote more time to the job, and he is looking for something different, according to the Skagit Valley Herald.

The district is still determining whether its new superintendent will be full or part time.
