The Bellingham baseball team scored in every inning of its 11-1 win over Squalicum in six innings in a Northwest Conference game at home Tuesday, April 16.
"We had a tough loss against Sehome last night and it was really important to see how we would respond after a heartbreaker like that," Bellingham coach David Farrell said in a phone interview. "They were excited and anxious to get back out there and got 11 hits, a home run and some doubles and hopefully we can get back on track. They came out aggressive and played well."
Charlie Carmichael earned the win and improved to 2-1 for the Red Raiders (6-1 NWC, 11-3). Austin Shenton went 2 for 4 with three RBI and a home run and Aaron Burke batted 2 for 3 with a double and two stolen bases.
The Storm (0-6 NWC, 1-13) was led by Brad Alvord, who went 1 for 1 with a run and Matthew Forhan, who was 1 for 2 with an RBI.
Bellingham travels to Sedro-Woolley on Wednesday, April 17, while Squalicum hosts Nooksack Valley, both NWC games.
