The Lynden Christian boys' golf team set a new team record after shooting a 389 in a Northwest Conference tournament at Similk Beach Golf Course on Tuesday, April 16.
"We're pretty pleased," Lynden Christian coach Dana Hagen said in a phone interview. "We didn't play too good at our last match but we really came out focused today. They were serious today and they were focused."
Ryan Wallen had the top score after shooting a 70 on the par 72.
Weber Bartz led the Lyncs shooting a 74 and Willy Scholten shot a 79.
"Bartz chipped in an eagle on a par five," Hagen said. "We've been working on taking it one shot at a time and not worrying about what is coming up next. He played really well."
Kristjan Toivola shot an 82 to lead the Mountaineers and Paul Newell shot a 100 to lead Nooksack Valley.
