The Bellingham girls' golf team shot a 337 to win the Burlington-Edison Invite at the Skagit Golf and Country Club on Monday, April 15.
The Red Raiders outshot second place Central Kitsap by 43 strokes and was led by Brooke Branigan and Jenn Paul, who each shot a 77, good enough to tie for second overall individually.
"Jenn played a really solid round from start to finish," Bellingham coach Brad McKay said in a phone interview. "The last hole distinguished the two. Jenn double bogied her last hole and Brooke eagled it. They both played really well and gave themselves the chance to win."
The teams were split into three golfers who each played 18 holes and three golfers who each played nine. Only the top two scores counted from the players that played nine.
Mount Baker finished 12th out of 20 teams with a team score of 475, and Lynden finished 13th with a team score of 482.
Laura Wilson finished with a 99 to lead the Mountaineers and Emily Ming finished with an 84 to lead the Lions.
