The Squalicum girls' tennis team fell 4-3 in a Northwest Conference match at home against Burlington-Edison on Monday, April 15.
"I was very pleased with the third and fourth singles players today," Squalicum coach Joe O'Brien said in a phone interview. "They played quite well today. Of course the match of the day was first doubles, and it was the first time Kim Dorr and Rachel Dorr played in the number one spot, and for them to battle back and win was pretty exciting for us."
The Dorrs who defeated Heaven Henry and Mariah Swanson 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 in the first doubles spot.
Lindsey Belsher won the third singles slot 6-1, 6-0, and Tirsa Randall-Grutter won the fourth singles match 6-2, 6-1.
Squalicum (0-2 NWC, 3-3) hosts Sedro-Woolley Tuesday, April 16, in a Northwest Conference match.
