Luke Reardon's two goals helped propel the Lynden Christian boys' soccer team over Ferndale 3-0 on Monday, April 15, in a Northwest Conference league match at Ferndale.
"(Reardon) got free, and he put it away when he needed to," Ferndale coach Scott Browne said in a phone interview. "He just happened to be at the right place at the right time."
Reardon scored in the 24th and 37th minute, respectively, and a goal by Justin Brester put the game out of reach for the Golden Eagles in the 57th minute.
"We just came out flat today," Browne said. "Got to give Lynden Christian credit. They pressured the ball, and we didn't have many opportunities."
Both Lynden Christian (5-4-1, NWC 3-3-1) and Ferndale (2-10-0, NWC 2-6-0) play on Wednesday, April 17, with the Lyncs hosting Lynden and the Golden Eagles traveling to Meridian. Both are NWC league matches.
