Sehome track and field athletes Sam Humphreys, Sarah Dolese and Hanna Tarleton each won individual events to help the Mariners boys' and girls' teams finish first and second, respectively, during the Larry Eason Invitational Saturday, April 13, at Snohomish High School.
The Squalicum girls' track and field team finished sixth, and the boys' team took eighth. Mount Baker boys took 14th, Blaine finished 24th and Nooksack Valley was 34th. Blaine girls finished 20th, and the Mount Baker girls' team took 30th.
Humphreys won the triple jump with a mark of 40 feet, 11.5 inches, Dolese won the 100 meters in 12.52 seconds and Tarleton won the 300 meter hurdles in 45.33 seconds. Sehome's quartet of Zane Markosian, Trevor Northrop, Patrick Lisosky and Reed Henderson won the distance medley with a time of 11:01.90, and the Mariners girls' foursome of Dolese, Tarleton, Kendra Thomas and Bridget Henry won the 4x200 relay in 1:45.50.
Squalicum's Gina Flint won both the shot put and discus with throws of 44-10.25 and 156-09, respectively. Storm pole vaulters Kirsten Webber, Tori Franzen and Madi Krussow finished one, two, three in the event. Webber cleared a height of 11-06.00 to win.
Mount Baker's Dillon Quintana won the 3,200 meters with a time of 9:25.82. He beat Cedarcrest second-place finisher Logan Orndorf by nearly 10 seconds. Quintana's teammate, Nathan Dunford, won the boys' pole vault with a mark of 14-06.00
