Jeremy Brockmann hit Josh Hosick in on a game-winning single to give the Meridian baseball team a 4-3 win at home over Squalicum in a Northwest Conference game Wednesday, April 10.
"It was a very competitive game both ways," Meridian coach Steve Slesk said in a phone interview. "They got their one run in the top of the third and I thought we showed some character to get two in the bottom half of that inning. I was really impressed with both pitchers being able to get loose again after the hour rain delay."
Tanner Tutterow earned the win for the Trojans (1-4 NWC, 7-4) and batted 1 for 2. Brockmann was 1 for 3 and Hosick was 2 for 3 for Meridian.
Squalicum (0-4 NWC, 1-11) was led by Matthew Forhan, who batted 1 for 1 and Ben Tripp, who batted 1 for 3. Brock Jorgenson batted 1 for 3 for the Storm.
Squalicum hosts Bellingham in a Northwest Conference game Friday, April 12, while Meridian travels to Friday Harbor for a non-conference game.
