EVERSON A gravel truck driver lost control of his dump trailer and struck a telephone pole at East Pole and Noon roads Wednesday morning, April 10, knocking out telephone service for some residents.
Michael D. Timmer, 27, the driver, wasn't hurt when the westbound Stremler Gravel truck went off the road to the right, striking the pole at 8:12 a.m., said Washington State Patrol Trooper Mark Francis.
Timmer was cited for driving with his wheels off the road.
Both lanes of East Pole were shut down for about three hours. Crews from Stremler Gravel a Lynden-based contractor were at the scene to clean up dirt and rocks that spilled into the intersection.
