The eighth annual Great Gravel Pack-in will take place at Capitol State Forest Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
You can join other volunteers from a variety of recreation interests – including equestrian, motorized, mountain biking and hiking – to help improve trails in the forest.
This year’s activities including spreading gravel and repairing tread on the new Equine Loop Trail, and clearing downed brush and doing basic improvements to the campground.
Children under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. For the safety of horses and pack stock, please leave dogs at home. Bring gloves and dress appropriately for weather. Bring plenty of food and water.
Volunteers should meet at the Margaret McKenny Campground off Waddell Creek/Mima Road.
