The Blaine girls' tennis team swept Coupeville 5-0 in a non-conference game Thursday, March 28, in Coupeville.
"It went pretty well," Blaine coach John Freal said in a phone interview. "The girls played well all the way through. Top to bottom I think they gave their best effort and I think the scores show it."
Saskia Dolk won the first singles match 6-4, 6-2 and Elizabeth Berry defeated Allie Hanigan 6-2, 7-5 for Blaine (2-4) in the second singles slot.
Emily Grayston and Alex Henderson won the first doubles match 6-0, 6-0 for the Borderites.
Blaine hosts Burlington-Edison on Wednesday, April 10, to begin Northwest Conference play.
