Sehome girls' tennis singles players didn't lose a set, as the Mariners earned a 7-0 non-conference win against Lynden Thursday, March 28, at Sehome High School.
"The girls played really well, and it was a fun match," Sehome coach Bonna Giller said in a phone interview. "(Lynden coach) Trey (Ballard) does a great job with his girls. They were focused from start to finish, and I was really impressed with their play."
Mariners Andrea Clawson, Simone Hall, Lauren Smith and Lizzie Friesen each earned singles wins. Doubles partners Madison Harris and Taylor Harris, Kristen Chalmers and Jane Clawson and Natalie Knops and Nicola Morrow each won their doubles matches.
"Lauren Smith, our No. 3 singles, had a 31-minute match," Giller said. "She played really well, and I'm not sure if there were any points scored by Lynden in that game at all."
Sehome faces Anacortes next during its Northwest Conference opener at 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 12, at Sehome High.
