The Bellingham girls' tennis team won for the third time in a row without dropping a single match thanks to a 7-0 Northwest Conference win against Lynden Wednesday, March 27, at Lynden High School.
Red Raiders singles players Bella Hoyos and Keri Brauner won 6-0, 6-0, and doubles team Catie Welch and Tess Owen also won without losing a game.
"I thought Bellingham played really well," Lynden coach Trey Ballard said in a phone interview. "They looked like they were in full-season form. I thought Morgan Otter and Tilly Timmer played a good match, but they couldn't get those important points."
The Lynden doubles duo lost 6-3, 6-2, but came the closest to earning a win of any Lion.
Ballard was also pleased with Katherine Haveman's play in the No. 3 singles spot.
"Katherine Haveman came back strong in the second set," Ballard said. "She was up 2-1 and was playing better than the other girl at the time."
Bellingham (5-0) hosts Ferndale next at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 28, while Lynden travels to play Sehome at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
