The Lynden girls' tennis team was unable to take a match in its 7-0 loss at home to Burlington-Edison in a non-conference match Tuesday, March 26.
"Burlington is a very solid and deep team and the girls played a lot better than the scores show," Lynden coach Trey Ballard said in a phone interview. "The ball just didn't bounce our way."
Morgan Otter and Tilly Timmer, in the first doubles position, were the only players from Lynden (1-2) able to to take a set from the Tigers.
"Morgan and Tilly came back in the second set and I thought they were coming back to win," Ballard said. "Burlington made some adjustments and took it to us in the third. Morgan and Tilly were able to frustrate them in the second I think and that helped out a lot."
Lynden will host Bellingham on Wednesday, March 27, in a non-conference game.
