The Ferndale boys' soccer team will have to wait two more days to try and earn their first win. The Golden Eagles faced one-loss Sedro-Woolley and suffered a 4-0 Northwest Conference loss Tuesday, March 26, at Ferndale High School.
Sedro-Woolley's Obed Camacho scored once in the first half and twice in the first 17 minutes of the second half for a hat trick. Cubs' Ivan Chavez scored Sedro's fourth goal in the 71st minute.
Ferndale (0-8-0, 0-4-0 NWC) put four shots on goal. Sedro-Woolley (5-1-1, 3-1-1 NWC) put 11 on frame. Golden Eagles keeper Ful Schonborn made nine saves.
Ferndale coach Scott Browne was pleased with defensemen Wyatt Dunn and Nate Sanders despite conceding four goals.
"I was impressed with our defense," Browne said in a phone interview. "Nate Sanders and Wyatt Dunn did an outstanding job in the back today. They played their hearts out."
