BELLINGHAM - City Council member Seth Fleetwood has announced he will not seek another term.
Fleetwood, a 50-year-old attorney, has served two two-year terms as the council's at-large representative. Before that, he served eight years on the Whatcom County Council.
"I have been right in the center of local politics for a long time, unremittingly so, and it's time to try some different things," he said in a prepared statement.
Fleetwood said he stressed Lake Whatcom preservation and urban growth issues during his time on both councils.
Another City Council incumbent, Stan Snapp, has also announced he won't be seeking a new term in the 2013 city elections.
