The Nooksack Valley softball team got out to a quick start as it defeated Meridian 10-0 in six innings in a Northwest Conference game at home Monday, March 25.
"It was another one of those games where we had production all the way through the order," Nooksack Valley coach Tom Harmon said in a phone interview. "Every single kid got a hit today and that's nice. It means everyone did well with the stick and put the ball in play."
The Trojans (0-2 NWC, 2-5) were led by Kendra Holmes, Ashley Veenstra and Angela Roderick, who all batted 1 for 3.
The Pioneers (2-0 NWC, 3-1) were led by Chloe Gardner, who batted 3 for 4 with two runs, a home run and a double, Melanie Brown, who batted 2 for 4 with two runs and Britteny Allen, who batted 2 for 3 with a run and an RBI.
Kayla Struiksma earned the win for the Pioneers.
Nooksack Valley next travels to Blaine for a Northwest Conference game on Thursday, March 28, while Meridian hosts Sedro-Woolley Friday, March 29.
