FIVE GOLFERS TO WATCH
The future Western Washington University Viking has dominated Whatcom County golf with her fellow Red Raiders since she started playing. Branigan has three top 15 finishes at state. She should be in the running for an individual title to go with another possible Bellingham team title.
McNeely is one of four returning state placers from the Red Raiders' run to a fourth straight title last year, as she finished 18th at state. With less depth than usual, Bellingham will rely heavily on its four battle-tested veterans this year.
Paul finished second behind Branigan in Northwest Conference Stableford points last year and tied her teammate for fourth place during the Class 2A State Tournament. Paul gives the Red Raiders an extremely consistent golfer coach Brad McKay can rely on every time out.
A three-sport athlete, Rautenberg's 10th-place finish at last year's Class 1A State Tournament was the best of any 1A Whatcom County girls' golfer. She has the chance to finish even higher this year and gives the Trojans a reliable golfer Meridian can always count on to score points.
Mount Baker, senior
Wilson provided strong leadership for the Mountaineers last year and should once again. She finished 16th at the Class 2A State Tournament a year ago, fourth at the Northwest District Tournament and seventh in Stableford scoring during conference tournaments.
