Ferndale loses to late Burlington-Edison goal, 1-0

The Ferndale boys' soccer couldn't translate chances into goals, losing to Burlington-Edison 1-0 on Friday, March 22, at Burlington-Edison in a Northwest Conference match.

Carlos Mendoza scored Burlington's lone goal in the 71st minute, driving the ball past Ferndale's Ful Schonborn.

"It was a back and forth battle, and both teams had great chances," Ferndale coach Scott Browne said in a phone interview. "That was the one ball that beat us."

Blaine (0-3-0 NWC, 0-6-0 overall) hosts Oak Harbor in a non-confernce match on Saturday, March 23.
